[ Well. This was different.

In all honesty, Yamamoto should have been used to this by now. He had the terrible little habit of being pulled around from place to place, and showing up again in a world he kind of sort of maybe recognized, except not really, shouldn't have come as that big of a surprise to him. Much like the other world he'd been in, this one was just as quiet, just as silent, and he'd been a little bit disoriented and unsteady the second he'd opened his eyes, face turned into the dirt of a forest floor.

He'd managed to stumble his way out of that forest in a brief ten minutes, and luckily enough for him, he'd ended up in the streets of his hometown. At least this was familiar to him, right? Or as familiar as it was going to get, because things were still a little bit different. The buildings around him were worn down, tired looking, and it was in the middle of the day with the sun shining bright above him, but --

The streets were completely empty, and every fence on every street was locked shut, and every blind on every window was pulled down, and the silence was deafening.

Yamamoto stood awkwardly at the corner of one of those quiet streets, fingers resting lightly on a lamppost as he cast a short look around. ]

Haha, uh...

[ It was strange how even his laughter felt too loud against the thick wall of silence.

And if he had stopped to think for maybe a second, he might have caught on to the fact that walking around in a completely bare city probably wasn't the best of ideas. Something was obviously wrong. Something was definitely not right, and he could feel it in every bone in his body and every muscle that twisted within the pit of his stomach.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, but he had to go somewhere, had to be somewhere, and so he ignored it. He didn't have much of a choice at the moment, and his fingers drifted away from the lamppost as he pushed himself back down the sidewalk, walking in no particular direction.

He figured he'd run into something eventually.

Or he hoped. ]
